Hey guys. Just have a video showing you a fun afternoon activity just a few minutes from our house. Maybe one day we can take a picnic up and cool off in the fountains?

A Couple of Colorado Bits

Hey Belgs. Sorry that I haven't posted in a while...

This is one of the windiest videos that I've ever made, but it shows a couple of unique features of Colorado. We can't wait to show you this stuff in person!

Yard of Rocks

To elaborate a little further on the high desert thing... Not only is water scare here but the soil is expansive too (making foundations unique here). Because of these 2 things, they require homeowners to have multiple feet of rock surrounding your house before you can plant any grass (to keep water away from the foundation and to conserve on water used).

At first, I have to admit I thought this looked very weird but you kind of get used to it and right now a smaller yard to mow and maintain is alright by me.

Anyway back to the rocks - so we have thousands of rocks surrounding our house. Can you guys think of anything fun that we could possible do with a bunch of rocks while you are out here?

Malia really likes to play in the rocks although she can't walk on them very steadily yet.

Questions Answered

Hey guys. Sorry that it has taken me awhile to get some answers to your most interesting questions. I started replying in the comment section but then figured this would be a more effective way.

So let's dive into the answers:

1. Taatjes: Unfortunately I probably wouldn't be able to tell if it was you flying a fighter jet. I will make sure to try and wave to all that go by though just in case it is you flying in it one day.

2. Trey: We live about 25-30 minutes from the regular airport but just about 5 from an army base where those fighter jets take off from. How far do you live from the airport?

And yes of course we can go hiking in the mountains for 3 hours.

3. Thankfully, I did not have to watch that panning on that video of the mountains - yikes. Really despite the nauseating video, the views out here are amazing - still stunning after 9 months to see those mountains.

4. Michelle: It is turning a little green around here these days. Overall the low lands in which we live are surprisingly yellow - I am told that we are considered a high desert. But the mountains will be greener and we will water our lawn a lot to make sure it is lush when you come.
